My ‘Boy Wins the Newberry

Update: The phrase “My ‘Boy” is short for “homeboy,” and has no homoerotic implications. Happy, Dave?

Major kudos to my favorite genre author, Neil Gaiman, on winning this year’s Newberry Medal for The Graveyard Book, which I thoroughly enjoyed last Halloween. Click here to read Neil’s humorous retelling of being notified. He faithfully runs the best author blog I’ve ever seen, even garnering Weblog’s Best Lit Blog Award a couple weeks back (Bookslut came in 2nd).

In other Gaiman news, Henry Selick’s (The Nightmare Before Christmas) stop-motion 3D adaptation of Gaiman’s classic gothic novel, Coraline, hits theaters on February 6th.
